The East Central Alabama Area Health Education Center is ready to take on the H.E.A.T this summer. ECAAHEC has partnered with Gadsden State Community College Health Science Department in hosting the first Health Education and Training (H.E.A.T) Summer Program. H.E.A.T is a week long program the week of June 13-17, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The summer program is for upcoming sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in a career in healthcare. In addition to partnering with GSCC, these students will also get to experience Quality of Life Health Services in Gadsden, Citizens Baptist Hospital in Talladega and The University of Alabama at Birmingham. H.E.A.T will give these students an in-depth look into a wide range of career opportunities including nursing, dentistry, clinical lab technician, physical therapy and many more. The students will also receive their CPR certification and a great resume building opportunity.
